Group

The group interests relate to the fields of nanoscience and nanotechnology, particularly the areas of molecular electronics, molecular magnetism and biology. We design molecular systems capable of providing inputs at the nano-scale and focus our efforts in the control and organization of such systems on different surfaces/nanodevices. The main areas of expertise are

  • Synthesis of functional molecules/polymers & supramolecular aggregates
  • Characterization of our molecular-based materials
  • Surface studies

Two new vacancies in the group

      We are looking for two new group members to work in the framework of the ERC PoC project  “Launch of a universal sublimation technology for molecular transfer on substrates (smolSUB)”.  The project aims at the further development, and field validation, of a device for vacuum sublimation created by the group and protected by a Spanish Patent. For this, we are looking for a scientific assistant to help in the preparation of molecular compounds, their characterization, vacuum sublimation on the surfaces, and analysis of the obtained results to optimize the sublimation process parameters. Best Flash Talks Awards

The past week we attended the workshop on “Electrical and optical active molecular materials for bio-applications” (ACTIVE2022) organized by the Tuneable and Low-Cost Molecular Electronics (RL4) and Bioactive Materials for Therapy and Diagnosis (RL5) research lines from ICMAB, CSIC. During the event, Ph.D. researchers presenting their work participated in the contest for the Best Flash Talks that awarded Raquel Gimeno and Jorik Waeterschoot, a Ph.D. student and a visiting Ph.D. student from KU Leuven in our group, with the first and second prize. Congratulations guys!
