On Friday, 16 March 2018, the secondary school INS Mercè Rodoreda (Hospitalet de Llobregat) celebrated their “IV Scientific Day” (IV Jornada Científica) with scientific activities for their students, from 1st ESO to 2nd BTX. Núria Aliaga, ICREA Research Professor at ICMAB, was one of the invited speakers. She had the big challenge of talking about science to “Arts and Humanities” 3rd and 4th ESO students.

On Wednesday, May 9, 2018, the Institut d’Estudis Catalans (IEC) will host the XXX IEC Chemistry Debate “Connect the Materials Science with the young students”. Susagna Ricart and Arántzazu González will take part in the event, which will start at 4:00 pm at the “Sala Prat de la Riba”, as speakers:

• 4:15 pm: «Àtoms, molècules… i materials» by Susagna Ricart Miró
• 5:00 pm: «Kit de materials a l’aula (ICMAB)» by Arántzazu González Campo

The Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry (RSEQ) celebrated its XXXVI Biennial Meeting in Sitges from 25 to 29 June 2017. “The Biennial” (La Bienal) as it is known by the Spanish Chemical community, is the forum which shows the vitality and the vigor of the Spanish chemistry, and ICMAB didn’t want to miss this great event!

ICMAB hosted its first International Summer School on Materials for Biomedical Application (MATBIO2017) with four days full of lectures and hands-on activities, and with over 45 students of 21 different institutions and more than 8 different countries.
