Postdoctoral position in Organic Chemistry and Surfaces.
THIS POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IS ALREADY CLOSE
FunNanoSurf is a multidisciplinary group interested in the integration of molecules as active elements in nano-/micro-devices of different nature with the goal of developing responsive molecular-based platforms useful for electronic and/or sensor purposes.
Job Description
We are looking to recruit a postdoctoral fellow to create highly-conjugated molecular-based materials to accommodate them in nano-devices. The postdoctoral fellow must have an extensive knowledge on characterization in solution, in the solid state and on surfaces. The project will require two phases, a first one related to the synthesis of the systems and a second one toward the deposition of the materials on different substrates. The successful candidate should have experience in organic chemistry, supramolecular chemistry and surface chemistry. Expertise in soft-deposition techniques and analysis of SAMs will be highly regarded.
The postdoctoral fellow will join a group that has already expertise in the matter and actively collaborates with other international groups and platforms regarding the characterization and final applications of the devices.
This position offers a unique opportunity to conduct innovative, interdisciplinary research and the postdoctoral fellow is expected to publish her/his results in leading journals. The postdoctoral term is up to 2 years.
Requirements
For this, we are looking for an enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher with a strong background in organic chemistry, supramolecular chemistry and surface chemistry, with experience in soft-deposition techniques.
- PhD in organic chemistry
- Knowledge of supramolecular chemistry and surface functionalization
- Expertise in soft-deposition techniques
- Excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills
- Strong publication record
- Candidates must be able to work independently as well as with interdisciplinary teams
- Fluent in English
Please submit your cover letter and CV, including the contact information (name, institution, phone number, and e-mail address) of 3 references.
The project will start in February 2020 but we encourage candidates to apply early; applications will be considered as they are received.
